Public Safety / Homeland Security

Mission

The mission of the CRCOG Public Safety and Homeland Security Department is to access and coordinate federal, state, and local grant and financial opportunities to enhance the region’s capabilities to protect the safety, security, and health of its citizens through the region’s police, fire, public health, EMS and emergency planning organizations.

The Department develops and implements practical projects to promote regional public safety and inter-agency strategies for public safety service delivery, managerial cooperation, training and use of advanced technology.

DEMHS Region 3 Cyber Security Task Force

The Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (DEMHS) Region 3 Cyber Security Task Force is a voluntary group consisting of information technology managers and emergency management directors from the 41 member municipalities as well as state and federal cyber security officials. This group focuses on cyber security best practices and experiences from a municipal viewpoint and provides information on training and strategies for a constantly evolving cyber security landscape.

The task force meets on the second Thursday of every other month at 10am.
